What Happens If a Woman Takes Viagra?

A 56 year-old woman who takes Viagra when she thinks she needs it, claims that Viagra in women acts differently as in men. A woman as she says becomes more sensitive in sexual life.

She says that she has felt how the blood flow increased in certain areas of her body and by this she felt like there was an increase in sensitivity.

She also says that she was unable to have an orgasm and after taking a blue pill everything has changed in her life. She thinks that the drug has restored her sexual function.

The studies of Viagra effects on women show that the drug does not work for them. Still some doctors say those studies were not complete enough and only women with desire disorders were tested who can’t be cured by the drug.

Some of sexual therapists claim that Viagra may increase the blood flowing to the genitals in women. They also believe that women with problems to achieve orgasm, suffering from vaginal dryness or a lack of sensation should take Viagra.

In a recent study of 200 women that were sponsored by Pfizer, the improvement of sexual sensitivity was proved. The women involved in studies were postmenopausal and suffered from sexual arousal disorder.  100 women were given Viagra and the other 100 were given a placebo.  The results were surprising – 57% of women taking Viagra reported improved sensation in the genital area, compared with 44% in the placebo group.

However there are lots of sex therapists who are against prescribing Viagra to women for treating any forms of sexual arousal disorders. They consider that sexual problems in women are very complex and the drug will not solve these problems in women the same way as in men.
